On Friday 19 October we were fortunate enough to enjoy an evening with some of our clients and professional connections at Gloucester Brewery, some three years after we hosted our first client event there.
The evening was kick started by Alex of Quayside who welcomed everyone who attended and spoke about the past 12 months of Quayside and what the rest of the year looks set to bring. It also allowed Alex the opportunity to highlight the expansion Quayside is soon to undertake, show some images of our second location in Lydney, our partnership with Gloucestershire Young Carer’s and importantly thank all those in the room that all played a part in Quayside Wealth Management’s success throughout 2018.
Following Alex, Guy Stephens Technical Investment Director of Rowan Dartington gave our guests an insight in to the recent economic environment, challenges facing investors and challenges facing global fund managers, questions came from guests, unsurprisingly Brexit took focus followed by an interesting question regarding the more recent trend in digital currency, more specifically Bitcoin.
Last to take centre stage were Andrina of Quayside and Jane Dyer of Gloucestershire Young Carer’s. Jane explained the work Gloucestershire Young Carer’s do, sharing detail of their recent 25th Anniversary ceremony at Berkley Castle at which Quayside were pleased to be the main sponsors, Jane also planned to share a video of the views of the Young Carer’s themselves and how they benefit from the work Gloucestershire Young Carer’s do which can be seen here.
Andrina closed the official presentations of the evening, summarising all of the talks, highlighting some of the tax benefits of supporting charity, the importance of not making rash decisions in times of volatility and of course the importance of having a plan. Andrina was also able to introduce our Raffle where £310.00 was added to this year’s rolling fund raising total for Gloucestershire Young Carer’s. Andrina also had the plea set task of introducing Jan Van Der Elsen of Gloucester Brewery who took over from the Quayside team to take us through an informative and enjoyable beer tasting of several of Gloucester Breweries own beers complimented by charcuterie from their own Pub and Restaurant, Tank.
Special thanks to the team at the Brewery and Tank Gloucester for ensuring the night was a success, Guy of Rowan Dartington for taking time out on his Friday evening and of course, those who donated gifts to the raffle such as Gallagher Insurance, Gloucestershire Young Carer’s and the Brewery and finally, again a thank you to our clients and professional connections who came along and made the night so enjoyable.
