The team at Quayside were invited for a week of quiz questions coinciding with the Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse on BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s morning show with Mark Cummings.
We agreed (with a hope for some easy questions) that for every correct answer, as a team we would make a donation to the Gloucestershire Young Carers with the opportunity for them to gain £100.00 to kick start our fund raising for the year.
We started well with an 8/10 dropping points to an interesting question linking Scrooge and Gloucester…. we’ll leave you to look up the story. On day two we were short of team members so brought in two of the Partners, Ian and Steve Price of Griffiths Marshall Chartered Accountants for a second 8/10. The score then increased with a 9/10 and two 10/10’s leaving us a respectable 2nd in the county but likely not for long.
As a team we struggled with the ‘mystery voice’ helped more than once by the show’s guest for the day, however our knowledge of Gloucestershire didn’t let us down helped by our very own office dog Maverick, whose requirement for walks ensured the local geography questions were answered without fault.
A fun week for the team, an overall respectable 45/50, as soon as we’re welcomed back on, we’ll aim for a perfect week and importantly we rounded up the team’s donation to £100.00 to kick start our fund raising for such a great charity.
